Job Description

Job Summary

We are hiring a Senior Sales Officer to drive distributor sales performance across assigned territory through active client acquisition, repeat business, and successful deal closure. The role is ideal for candidates with B2B and B2C sales experience who can execute field visit plans, analyze market demand, and strengthen brand presence on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled field visits to retail outlets, wholesalers, and key business accounts to assess product availability, demand, and competitor activity.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new and existing customers, ensuring timely follow-up and consistent sales conversion.
  • Perform B2B and B2C selling including product demonstrations, planogram/visibility execution (as applicable), and handling purchase inquiries.
  • Lead sales negotiation and coordinate approvals to close deals in line with pricing, discount, and company policy.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports covering leads generated, visits completed, orders booked, payment status, and account performance.
  • Monitor market trends using retailer/wholesaler feedback and competitor benchmarking, then translate insights into actionable sales plans.
  • Support branding and communication activities by coordinating in-store promotions, sharing brand messaging, and improving customer awareness.

 

Job Specification

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical sales experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in sales roles within distribution/retail/consumer goods or similar trade environments.
  • Field Visit — strong ability to plan, execute, and document territory visits with measurable outcomes (leads, orders, and repeat purchase).
  • Client Communication — proven capability to manage client queries, product discussions, and issue resolution while maintaining account relationships.
  • B2B & B2C Sales — experience selling to both business accounts and end customers, with focus on order growth and retention.
  • Sales Negotiation & Closing — practical skill in negotiating terms, overcoming objections, and closing orders while following company pricing rules.
  • Market Research & Analysis — ability to gather competitor/store-level insights, analyze demand patterns, and recommend actions to improve sales.
  • Branding and Communication — experience supporting brand visibility through in-store communication and customer-facing messaging.
  • Sales Planning & Forecasting — ability to track targets, manage pipeline, and forecast orders using CRM/spreadsheet tools (as provided).
  • Territory Management — skill in organizing route plans, prioritizing high-potential accounts, and ensuring consistent execution.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling through distributors/retail chains with knowledge of trade dynamics and channel partner behavior.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, sales dashboards, and reporting templates used by sales teams.
  • Prior experience coordinating promotional activities and managing product visibility requirements in retail settings.
