Job Description
In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as a PR & Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated PR/communications outputs and/or create expert communications content, evaluating reasoning quality, messaging discipline, and step-by-step decision-making while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for clarity, accuracy, tone, stakeholder fit, and adherence to the prompt; identify issues in narrative coherence, positioning, media readiness, reputational risk, claims/compliance, and crisis-response logic; fact-check statements where needed; write high-quality explanations and model deliverables (e.g., press releases, statements, FAQs, pitches, comms plans) that demonstrate best practices; and rate and compare multiple responses based on effectiveness, correctness, and reasoning quality.This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs. Your PR and communications expertise directly helps improve the world’s premier AI models by making their public-facing writing more accurate, on-message, risk-aware, and clearly explained.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard PR/comms outputs (press releases, statements, pitches, FAQs, comms plans) to guide AI learning.
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve message discipline, clarity, credibility, and stakeholder fit.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, reputational risk, bias, and unsafe claims; validate reliability across scenarios (product launch, incident response, policy change).
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in PR and/or communications (agency or in-house), including writing and media-facing deliverables.
- Strong command of message development: narratives, proof points, objection handling, Q&A/FAQ frameworks, and tone control.
- Experience producing core comms assets: press releases, media pitches, bylines, statements, talking points, internal comms, and executive notes.
- Ability to evaluate outputs for accuracy, defensibility, and risk (overclaims, legal/compliance sensitivity, forward-looking statements, confidentiality).
- Familiarity with crisis comms principles: rapid response, stakeholder mapping, escalation paths, holding statements, and post-incident learnings.
- Strong editing and QA skills; ability to provide specific, actionable feedback and write gold-standard rewrites with rationale; minimum C1 English proficiency.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, newsroom/press office workflows, or comms review is strongly preferred.
