Job Description
In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as a Financial Analysis Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated financial analysis and business-finance responses and/or create expert finance content, evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step analytical problem-solving while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in financial modeling logic, assumptions, unit economics, valuation reasoning, forecasting, and metric interpretation; fact-check finance concepts and calculations; write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods; and rate and compare multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality. This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs.Important
There is no immediate project for this role; however, if qualified, you will be among the first experts we reach out to when relevant opportunities arise. This will also provide you with access to future projects available through our expert network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard finance outputs (models, assumptions tables, narratives, sensitivity analyses, investment-style summaries).
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve numeric correctness, rigor, clarity, and practical usefulness.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for calculation errors, misleading interpretations, unsafe assumptions, and bias; validate reliability across business scenarios.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field; CFA/MBA is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in financial analysis (FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, consulting, or similar).
- Strong command of core finance concepts: 3-statement logic, cash flow drivers, working capital, margin analysis, capital allocation, and basic corporate accounting linkage.
- Proven experience building and reviewing financial models (forecasting, scenario/sensitivity analysis, cohort/unit economics, pricing/packaging analyses).
- Comfortable with valuation reasoning (DCF mechanics, comps selection, multiple drivers) and clearly stating assumptions and limitations.
- Strong quantitative rigor and attention to detail (units, sign conventions, time horizons, circularity, error-checks).
- Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly in writing (executive summary, key drivers, risks, recommendations); minimum C1 English proficiency.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, finance QA, investment memo review, or analytics editorial work is strongly preferred.
