Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Pharmacy (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • Mandatory Assistant Pharmacist certification/license.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmacy management or operations.
  • Proficiency in Medipro software and basic computer skills.


Brief Job Description & Logistics

The position is based at Bodgaun Primary Hospital, Ward 11, Indrawati Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok District, Bagmati Province, Nepal. The hospital is managed and operated by Jay Nepal NGO with a mission to provide accessible, affordable, and community-centered healthcare services in a rural area.

The facility currently provides 24/7 emergency services and includes inpatient care rooms, outpatient services, gynecology and obstetrics services, a fully equipped operation theatre for surgical procedures, a dedicated surgery room, laboratory services, and pharmacy services. Diagnostic facilities include X-ray, ultrasonography, and electrocardiography (ECG). The hospital is actively expanding its healthcare capacity to better serve surrounding rural communities.

The hired pharmacist will be responsible for managing pharmacy operations in close coordination with the Medical Officer, hospital management team, and healthcare staff. Responsibilities include medicine stock management, dispensing, patient counseling, record keeping, and supporting emergency and surgical services.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and dedication to humanitarian healthcare work with a strong patient-centered approach. Beyond dispensing medicines and administrative tasks, the pharmacy team plays an important role in promoting community health awareness, patient education, and follow-up care programs to improve the overall wellbeing of the local population.


Salary & Benefits:

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and abilities, starting from NPR 35,000 per month (including taxes).

Living arrangements are provided by Bodgaun Primary Hospital; food, travel, and other expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

Job Summary:

Oversee the Pharmacy Department as the in-charge, including procurement, dispensing, and storage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the pharmacy accounting and inventory system on a daily basis and submit weekly reports to the hospital management.
  • Regularly monitor medicine stock levels and expiry dates, and coordinate with suppliers in advance to prevent shortages or wastage by following the hospital’s stock and expiry management procedures.
  • Ensure the continuous availability of vital and essential medicines by applying proper inventory management techniques and complying with all applicable Government of Nepal regulations and hospital policies.
  • Place orders for essential medicines and medical supplies before stockouts occur, and coordinate updates during regular hospital meetings and briefings.
  • Work on a regular duty schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while remaining available on a 24/7 on-call basis for emergency situations when required by the hospital.
  • Support hospital operations at the reception, registration desk, or emergency unit whenever necessary to ensure smooth patient service.
  • Coordinate closely with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff to support emergency care, surgical services, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Jay Nepal NGO or the Hospital Management as required.
