Job Description
One of the leading manufacturing industries is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Costing Manager to join its GSL Business Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end product costing, financial planning, inventory control, and cost optimization initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound financial acumen, and hands-on experience in manufacturing cost structures and ERP systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Costing & Cost Control- Manage end-to-end product costing, including raw materials, labor, and overhead cost allocation for the GSL Business Unit.
- Develop and maintain accurate standard costing models and ensure periodic reviews.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Support pricing decisions through detailed cost analysis and profitability assessments.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis (standard cost vs. actual cost) and provide actionable insights to management.
- Prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and cost projections for the GSL P&L.
- Analyze operational and financial performance to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee inventory valuation in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Coordinate physical inventory verification and ensure timely reconciliation with financial records.
- Monitor inventory movements and identify discrepancies, wastage, or obsolete stock.
- Develop and maintain cost MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
- Provide financial insights to support make-or-buy decisions, product profitability analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to cost records and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide required documentation and explanations.
- Maintain strong internal controls over costing and inventory processes.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of product costing, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One (SAP B1).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
