The Clearing & Forwarding Officer is responsible for coordinating import documentation, customs clearance processes, shipment tracking, and vehicle record management. The role ensures timely processing of shipping documents, effective coordination with banks, clearing agents, customs authorities, and internal departments to facilitate smooth import and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and circulate daily foreign exchange rates.
- Prepare LC documentation and coordinate with banks for issuance and related correspondence.
- Maintain and update vehicle shipment status and records in the system and manual registers.
- Prepare, process, and dispatch import/shipping documents to ensure timely customs clearance and shipment processing.
- Coordinate with banks, customers, clearing agents, customs agents, and other stakeholders regarding documentation and shipment status.
- Track shipments, monitor arrival schedules, and promptly report delays or issues to management.
- Communicate vehicle arrival and shipment updates to concerned departments.
- Maintain proper filing and safekeeping of all import, customs, and shipment-related documents.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager – Clearing & Forwarding or Head of Department from time to time.
