Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Butwal. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving textile production machinery and related mechanical systems. Daily tasks include conducting inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, planning and supervising repairs, and coordinating preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The role involves supporting machine design or modification for process improvements, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with production teams to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. The Mechanical Engineer will also work with vendors and internal stakeholders on equipment upgrades, ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with the ability to apply core principles to industrial machinery and manufacturing environments.
- Skills in Machine Design and experience working with or improving mechanical components and assemblies used in production equipment.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for drafting, reviewing, and updating machine layouts, parts, and assemblies.
- Experience in Project Management to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance, installation, and improvement projects within defined timelines and budgets.
- Exposure to Research and Development (R&D), including testing, evaluating new concepts, and implementing technical improvements in processes or equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices, safety standards, and root-cause analysis methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience in textiles or process manufacturing environments is an advantage.
