Reports To: DCEO
Position Summary
The Business Unit Head – EV Commercial Vehicle Segment will be responsible for leading the overall business operations, sales growth, profitability, and strategic expansion of the Electric Commercial Vehicle division. The role requires strong exposure to EV commercial mobility solutions, fleet business operations, dealership management, institutional sales, charging ecosystem, and customer relationship management within the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategic Leadership
- Lead and manage the overall EV Commercial Vehicle business operations to achieve organizational goals.
- Develop and execute business strategies focused on revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
- Identify emerging opportunities within the EV commercial mobility sector including fleet, institutional, and logistics business.
- Prepare annual business plans, sales forecasts, and operational growth strategies.
- Drive dealership expansion and strengthen market presence across assigned territories.
- Oversee end-to-end sales operations of EV commercial vehicles.
- Drive retail, fleet, institutional, and B2B sales growth.
- Develop market penetration strategies targeting logistics companies, corporate clients, transport operators, and fleet owners.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, government EV policies, and commercial mobility developments.
- Coordinate with marketing teams for product launches, campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Possess strong understanding of EV commercial ecosystem including charging infrastructure, battery management, route optimization, fleet utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with OEMs regarding product planning, operational standards, and business growth initiatives.
- Ensure proper implementation of operational processes across dealerships and business locations.
- Work closely with service and technical teams to ensure strong aftersales support and vehicle uptime.
- Promote EV awareness and customer education programs for fleet and commercial operators.
- Manage overall business profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Analyze business performance, operational KPIs, and sales reports for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure effective inventory planning and operational resource utilization.
- Implement operational improvements to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and aftersales departments.
- Build a high-performance and target-driven work culture.
- Identify training and development needs related to EV commercial technology and business operations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide strategic guidance to team members.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, dealers, fleet customers, financial institutions, and key stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in industry meetings, corporate discussions, and EV commercial forums.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OEM standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- MBA or Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 10–18 years of experience in automobile sales and operations with leadership exposure.
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in EV or Commercial Vehicle business operations.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, EV charging ecosystem, commercial mobility solutions, and institutional sales.
- Proven experience in dealership management, business development, and strategic planning.
