Day-to-day tasks include assisting with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting, as well as maintaining accurate records and supporting audits and compliance activities. The intern will help monitor cash flow, prepare summaries for management review, and collaborate with training and operations teams to ensure resources are used efficiently. This role also involves contributing to process improvements, supporting data analysis for decision-making, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of financial tasks. The position is designed to provide hands-on experience in financial control functions within a vocational education environment, with mentorship and guidance from senior staff.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting, with the ability to work accurately with numbers and spreadsheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the capacity to interpret data, identify trends, and support informed decision-making.
- Proficiency in common office and finance tools (e.g., MS Excel, Word, basic accounting or ERP software) and comfort learning new systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-based environment and interact professionally with colleagues and learners.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Relevant academic background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (current student or recent graduate preferred).
- Interest in vocational education and willingness to learn about operational aspects of a technical training institution.
