Job Description

The Education Counselor is primarily responsible to guide students aspiring to study abroad. The role involves providing accurate advice on courses, universities, and admission procedures, assisting with applications, and ensuring smooth processing of documentation.


Key Responsibilities


I. Student Counseling

· Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to understand their academic background, career goals, and study abroad aspirations.

· Provide detailed information about study programs, universities, admission requirements, scholarships, and relevant immigration procedures.

· Address any concerns or queries raised by students regarding their study abroad plans.

· Assist students in identifying and shortlisting appropriate universities or colleges based on their preferences and academic profiles.


II. Performance & Target Responsibility

· Achieve assigned quarterly and annual student conversion targets in line with organizational goals.

· Regularly follow up with prospective and existing students to maximize conversions and ensure timely application progress.

· Maintain accurate records of leads, conversions, and follow-up activities.

· Proactively manage the student pipeline to ensure consistent enrollment outcomes.


III. Application Assistance

· Guide students in completing their application forms accurately and submitting all necessary documents within deadlines.

· Review and edit students' application essays, statements of purpose, and resumes to ensure they meet the requirements and effectively showcase their strengths and motivations.


IV. Test Preparation

· Advise students on standardized tests required for admission, such as the IELTS, PTE.

· Monitor students' progress in test preparation and provide feedback and support as needed.


V. Financial Guidance

· Inform students about the estimated costs of studying abroad, including tuition fees, living expenses, and healthcare coverage.

· Assist students in exploring scholarship opportunities, grants, and financial aid options available from universities or external sources.

· Provide guidance on financial planning and budgeting to help students manage their expenses while studying abroad.


VI. Visa and Immigration Support

· Familiarize students with visa application procedures, requirements, and documentation needed for their chosen study destinations.


VII. Relationship Management

· Attend education fairs, seminars, and workshops to promote the consultancy's services and establish partnerships with educational institutions.

· Maintain regular communication with students and provide ongoing support throughout their study abroad journey.

· Create students’ network


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred

· Minimum 2 years of experience in educational consultancy or study abroad counseling

· Strong knowledge of study abroad processes, admissions, and visa requirements

· Excellent student counseling and relationship-management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

· Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.

· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

· Experience using CRM software
