Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader to establish and scale a new business vertical from a blank slate. This is not a caretaker role for an existing operation — the Business Head will define the strategy, secure the principal/OEM relationships, build the go-to-market model, hire and lead the team, own the P&L, and take the business from first unit sold to a self-sustaining, profitable operation.

The right person combines a founder's mindset with the discipline of a professional operator: comfortable with ambiguity and a lean early team, but rigorous about numbers, process, and building for scale. They will operate with significant autonomy while working closely with Group leadership on capital allocation, partnerships, and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Market Entry

  • Own the end-to-end business plan: market sizing (TAM/SAM), positioning, pricing, and the path to profitability.
  • Define the market-entry roadmap and adapt it as ground realities emerge.
  • Track competitors, regulation, and category shifts, and adjust strategy accordingly.

Principal / OEM & Partnership Management

  • Secure and manage relationships with OEMs, principals, and strategic partners — including commercial terms, pricing, exclusivity, warranty, and supply commitments.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the Group and the principal(s).

Sales & Distribution Network

  • Build the sales engine and distribution/dealer network from zero — appointment, onboarding, and performance management of dealers and channel partners.
  • Set and hit sales targets; own volume, market share, and revenue.
  • Structure financing tie-ups (including with Group financial-services arms) to enable sales.

P&L Ownership

  • Full accountability for the vertical's profit and loss.
  • Build and manage budgets, pricing strategy, working capital, and unit economics.
  • Deliver against agreed financial milestones and report transparently to leadership.

Operations & Supply Chain

  • Establish import, logistics, inventory, and after-sales/service operations.
  • Own the supply chain end to end — sourcing, LC and payment structuring, customs clearance, and product registration/homologation as applicable.

Team Building

  • Hire, structure, and lead the vertical's team across sales, operations, service, and support.
  • Set culture, performance standards, and incentive structures for a high-accountability team.

Brand & Marketing

  • Shape brand positioning and the marketing strategy, with a bias toward performance-driven, funnel-based marketing over pure brand visibility.
  • Oversee product naming, launch, and demand-generation for the market.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure full compliance with Nepal's import, tax, transport, and sector-specific regulations.
  • Manage regulatory and government-facing matters relevant to the vertical (duties/tariffs, registration, remittances, and approvals).

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience, with a strong track record in a general management, business head, or country/category head role.
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling a business, product line, or territory — ideally launching something new rather than only managing an established operation.
  • P&L ownership at a meaningful scale.
  • Deep experience in distribution, dealer-network, or channel-led businesses (automotive, industrial, FMCG, or similar).
  • Strong command of Nepal's commercial environment — import/duty structures, banking/LC, regulatory landscape, and distribution realities (or the ability to master these fast).
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Entrepreneurial, ownership-driven, comfortable with ambiguity and a lean early team.
  • Sharp commercial and financial acumen — fluent in unit economics, pricing, and working capital.
  • Strong negotiator with OEMs, partners, and channel.
  • Excellent people leader who can attract and build a team from scratch.
  • Direct, data-driven, and decisive; execution-focused, not just strategic.
  • Fluency in English; working proficiency in Nepali strongly preferred.

Why This Role

  • A rare chance to build a business from zero with the backing, capital, and credibility of an established, diversified Group.
  • Full autonomy and ownership, paired with direct access to Group leadership.
  • High-visibility mandate with clear path to expanded scope as the vertical scales.
  • Competitive compensation with performance-linked upside tied to the vertical's success.
