Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Food Server role based at Pokhara Batika in Pokhara. The Food Server will greet guests, present menus, answer questions about dishes and beverages, and provide recommendations that align with guest preferences. Responsibilities include accurately taking and entering orders, coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, serving food and drinks, and ensuring timely, courteous service throughout the dining experience. The Food Server will monitor tables, respond promptly to guest requests, handle billing and payment processes, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area. The role also involves following food safety and hygiene standards, supporting special events and banquets, and contributing to a welcoming, professional atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on hospitality, guest satisfaction, and professional, inclusive interactions.
- Knowledge of food & beverage offerings, including menu items, ingredients, and basic pairing suggestions.
- Hands-on food service experience, including taking orders, serving dishes and beverages, and managing table turnover efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and coordinating with kitchen and service teams.
- Basic cooking or food preparation understanding is an advantage for explaining menu items and special requests.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays safely, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Nepali and other languages is a plus.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong commitment to cleanliness, safety, and teamwork.
