Role Overview
Che&Co is seeking a systematic and detail-oriented Project Accountant to lead internal financial operations and regulatory compliance for our hydropower portfolio. This is a critical mid-level role designed for a professional who excels at financial reconstruction, liability management, and inter-agency coordination.
Working closely with our external Audit Consultants and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), you will ensure our financial records are accurate, transparent, and strategically positioned for future equity investment and public listing.
Core Responsibilities
- Audit & Internal Record Management: Maintain and update internal ledgers to support the external audit process; ensure all historical reconciliations are accurate and documented for current and prior periods.
- Liability & Debt Verification: Reconcile project-related liabilities, including contractor dues, bank facilities, and joint-infrastructure cost-sharing agreements.
- NEA & Revenue Coordination: Oversee the accuracy of energy billing and transmission line costs in direct coordination with the NEA and site technical teams.
- Compliance & Equity Records: Verify internal investment records (including Director’s loans) and ensure all corporate filings are updated and synchronized within the OCR system.
- Operational Finance: Manage staff payroll and vendor payments through individual banking channels to ensure seamless operational continuity.
- Investment Readiness: Standardize financial reporting structures to facilitate new capital infusion and meet institutional requirements for future growth.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance/Accounting (Semi-qualified CA/ACCA preferred).
Experience: 2+ years in project accounting, ideally within the Hydropower, Construction, or Energy sectors.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tally/ERP, advanced MS Excel, and a strong understanding of OCR and IRD (TDS/VAT) procedures.
