Job Description

The Dental Counsellor will be responsible for guiding patients regarding recommended dental treatments, explaining procedures and treatment plans, coordinating with dentists, and ensuring proper patient follow-up. The role requires excellent communication skills, a patient-friendly approach, and the ability to build trust with patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and understand their dental concerns, needs, and treatment expectations.
  • Explain dentist-recommended treatment plans, procedures, benefits, costs, and timelines in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Counsel patients and assist them in making informed decisions regarding their recommended dental treatments.
  • Coordinate closely with dentists and clinical staff to ensure accurate communication of treatment information.
  • Follow up with patients regarding consultations, pending treatments, appointments, and treatment continuation.
  • Handle patient enquiries through calls, messages, and in-person communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient enquiries, consultations, follow-ups, and treatment status.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Handle patient concerns professionally and coordinate with the concerned department when required.
  • Support the hospital's patient service, awareness, and promotional activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital policies and professional standards.
Job Specification
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in any healthcare or dental-related background.
  • Previous experience in dental counselling, healthcare counselling, patient coordination, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent counselling, interpersonal, and follow-up abilities.
  • Pleasant, confident, professional, and patient-friendly personality.
  • Basic knowledge of dental treatments and procedures will be an advantage.
  • Good computer skills and ability to maintain patient records.
  • Ability to work effectively with dentists, clinical staff, and patients.
  • Candidates with experience in a dental hospital or clinic will be highly preferred.
