Role Description The Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank statements. The role will assist with preparing financial reports, supporting auditing processes, and organizing documents for bank loan services. Responsibilities include managing invoices, processing payments, tracking expenses, and helping ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The Assistant Accountant will also contribute to basic financial analysis that supports business growth strategies and client advisory work. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Heṭauā, requiring regular collaboration with the accounting team and direct interaction with clients.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliation.
- Ability to assist with auditing activities, document preparation, and compliance-related tasks.
- Experience or familiarity with financial services processes, such as bank loan documentation and financial reporting.
- Basic analytical skills to support business growth strategies, financial analysis, and performance tracking.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel) and strong numerical accuracy.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with team members and clients.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Heṭauā and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
