Role Description The Academic Counselor (UK) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu. The counselor will support prospective students interested in studying in the United Kingdom by providing academic guidance, program selection advice, and information on universities and colleges. Daily tasks include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing academic profiles, recommending appropriate courses and institutions, and explaining application and admission procedures. The role also involves assisting with documentation, coordinating with partner institutions, organizing information sessions, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions. The counselor will collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely communication, deliver high-quality service, and help students make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

Qualifications

  • Strong student counseling and career counseling skills, with the ability to provide individualized guidance.
  • Experience in academic advising and knowledge of education systems, preferably with exposure to UK higher education.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication in English and local languages.
  • Ability to build trust, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and work effectively with diverse student backgrounds.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Management, or a related field.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications and documentation.
  • Prior experience in an educational consultancy, international admissions, or student services is an advantage.
