VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position : SOP & Interview Preparation Officer
Kangaroo Education Foundation has guided Nepali students to study abroad since 2007. We represent over 100 institutions across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the USA and Canada, and we work to the values of Integrity, Commitment and Trust. We are now inviting applications from qualified and enthusiastic candidates for the position.
About the roleThe SOP & Interview Preparation Officer supports our students to present themselves accurately, confidently and credibly at every stage of the study-abroad application process. The role has two connected pillars: guiding students to write authentic, well-structured Statements of Purpose, and preparing them for university, credibility, visa and other admission-related interviews across all five of our destinations.
Key responsibilities• Guide students in developing well-structured, personalised and authentic SOPs based on their academic background, career goals and study plans.
• Review and edit SOPs for clarity, coherence and alignment with the chosen course and institution, and cross-check every claim against the supporting documents on file.
• Prepare students for university, credibility, visa and other admission-related interviews.
• Conduct mock interview sessions and give constructive feedback on communication, confidence, content and presentation.
• Identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement and provide personalised guidance.
• Help students understand commonly asked questions and develop appropriate responses in their own words — never memorised or misleading answers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand student profiles and ensure consistency between the SOP, the application and the interview.
• Keep up to date with changes in university admission, visa and immigration-related requirements, verified against official sources.
• Communication — strong written and verbal English, with excellent SOP writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Coaching ability — strong interviewing, presentation, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Destination knowledge — sound understanding of the Australian, UK, New Zealand and USA education systems and study-abroad processes; Canadian knowledge an advantage.
• Process awareness — familiarity with university admission requirements, common interview formats and credibility or genuine-student assessment approaches.
• People skills — ability to work patiently with students from diverse academic and personal backgrounds.
• Organisation — ability to manage multiple students, meet deadlines and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
• Integrity — a firm commitment to honest, genuine-student practice and to the confidentiality of student information.
• Qualifications — Bachelor’s degree minimum (Master’s in English, Education, Management or Communication preferred) and at least 2–3 years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered at associate level.
