Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Officer to join our brokerage office. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB)/BA(LLB)/BBM(LLB) degree and have at least one year of relevant legal experience. The Legal Officer will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, drafting and reviewing legal documents, supporting regulatory matters, and providing legal advice related to brokerage operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and finalize legal agreements, contracts, notices, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory authority requirements.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management and internal departments.
- Handle legal correspondence and coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
- Assist in licensing, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting brokerage operations.
- Maintain legal records and documentation in an organized and easily retrievable manner.
- Support dispute resolution, legal claims, and litigation matters as required.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and reports.
Job Specification
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)/BA(LLB)/BBM(LLB).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant legal experience.
- Sound knowledge of corporate, commercial, contract, and regulatory laws.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
Experience in the financial services, securities, insurance, or brokerage sector is an advantage.
