Education/ Experience (Key Requirements)

. Bachelor's in Electrical /Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)

.Master's Degree in Business Administration or Operations Management (Preferred)

.7+ Years of Experience in the Large Cable & Wire Manufacturing Industry in a leadership role, managing large-scale production operations.

.Proven track record in managing large-scale operations or business units.

.Preferably from companies like Apar Industries, Polycab, Finolex, KEI, etc.

Skills

.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

.In-depth understanding of cable manufacturing technologies and processes.

.Strong communication and negotiation skills.

.Proven experience in managing large teams in a factory setting

Production Planning & Operation Management

Production Planning & Operation Management 

 Plan and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet targets.

 

 Optimize production flow, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure timely delivery of finished goods.

 

 Lead and supervise production lines for LT ( House Wire, Concentric/Service Cable, Twin Flexible, Submersible, Power Cable, Medium Voltage Covered Conductor, ACSR ) & Solar Cables.

 

 Ensure machine utilization, material usage, and labor productivity are within benchmarks.

 

 Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Maintenance, and Quality teams for seamless operations.

 

 Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and dispatch schedules.

 

 Allocate resources (manpower, materials, machines) efficiently to maximize output.

 

 Knowledge of BIS certification processes, labor laws, and environmental norms.

 

 Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.

Process Management & Optimization

 

Oversee all manufacturing processes including:

 

 Wire Drawing

 

 Stranding & Bunching

 

 Insulation & Extrusion

 

 Armoring & Sheathing

 

 Curing & Testing

 

 Improve production efficiency and reduce downtime through process engineering and automation.

 

 Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and cost.

Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance

Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance

 

 Ensure all production processes adhere to national and international standards:(ISO, NS, IEC, BS, UL, ASTM, etc.)

 

 Coordinate with the QA/QC team to enforce product quality checkpoints and reduce customer complaints.

 

 Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BIS, etc.).

Manpower Management

Manpower Management

 

 Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, operators, and contract workers across all shifts.

 

 Monitor workforce productivity and take steps to address skill gaps through training.

 

 Foster a performance-driven culture with accountability at all levels.

Maintenance Coordination

Maintenance Coordination

 

 Coordinate with the Maintenance Head to ensure timely preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment (e.g., extruders, armoring machines, payoffs, take-ups, etc.)

 

 Minimize machine downtime and ensure availability of critical spares and tools

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

 

 Enforce compliance with all safety regulations, PPE usage, and statutory guidelines (Factories Act, Pollution  Control Board norms).

 

 Conduct safety drills, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Cost & Inventory Control

Cost & Inventory Control

 

 Monitor and control manufacturing costs (power, labor, scrap, consumables).

 

 Optimize raw material usage (Copper, Aluminium, XLPE, PVC, etc.).

 

 Coordinate with SCM and Stores for material planning and inventory control.

MIS & Reporting

 

Prepare and present periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on:

 

Production vs Target

 

Downtime analysis

 

Yield and Scrap data

 

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)

 

Man-hour utilization

 

Use ERP (e.g., SAP) and production dashboards for real-time decision-making.
