Job Description
The MNH Specialist is responsible to provide technical support to the project team and partners in the process of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy of project impacts. The technical support will be required also in designing package and implementation of MNH activities, collect & document relevant case studies, process documentation as part of disseminating project’s effectiveness. S/he is expected to work in close coordination and maintain good working relationship with District Health Office, NGO partner, government line agencies, and other stakeholders in the district for the smooth operation of project activities. S/he will represent SAMMAN Project in the districts, regional health directorate and play a key role in providing technical support to counterpart D/PHO and partner in close coordination with Project Manager and the team. The position is based in Dadeldhura district with 50% field visit. This is three-year project starting in October 2015, is focused to build the existing efforts of GSK, UK’s initial 20% Reinvestment Initiatives and its comprehensive approach to maternal and newborn health care in three districts in far western region of Nepal aiming to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes by strengthening and increasing effectiveness for frontline Health Workers (HWs), increasing effectiveness through enhanced training and supervision, enhanced community health systems, and enhanced community mobilization efforts from the financial support of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Job Specification
- Support Project Manager (PM) to prepare project level AIP, Quarterly plan, monthly plan & detail budget of interventions.
- Support implementing partner agencies for effective implementation of the project activities.
- Support the project team to follow guidelines, curriculums, protocols of BPP, MNH update, CB-IMNCI, birthing centre strengthening and family planning.
- Ensure the quality of training, review meetings, follow up after trainings, orientations & workshops / programs organized at district to community level.
- Develop integrated/joint plan (monthly, quarterly & adhoc) and facilitate to implement in close coordination with DHO, partner and the project staff.
- Provide technical assistance to DHOs in planning, implementation and monitoring of maternal, neonatal and child health programs.
- Support project team to ensure access and service utilization by the hard to reach and marginalized population.
- Assist in providing logistic support to stakeholders, community and health facilities in case of necessities
