Job Description
- Assist in Training Sessions: Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting engaging and effective swimming training sessions for athletes across various skill levels.
- Athlete Supervision: Monitor swimmers during training, ensuring proper techniques are followed and providing corrective feedback where necessary.
- Skill Development: Assist in developing swimmers’ technical skills, endurance, and speed through well-structured drills and practice routines.
- Program Coordination: Collaborate with the Head Coach to implement the training curriculum, aligning sessions with the academy’s development objectives.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure the safety of swimmers by following safety protocols and maintaining vigilance during all training sessions and events.
- Progress Evaluation: Maintain records of individual athletes’ progress and assist the Head Coach in tailoring development plans to meet their needs.
- Event Support: Aid in organizing and managing swimming meets, tournaments, and events at local, national, and international levels.
- Collaboration: Work with the Head Coach, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and other staff to provide a holistic training experience for athletes.
- Mentorship: Provide encouragement and mentorship to swimmers, fostering discipline, confidence, and a positive work ethic.
Job Specification
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree in related field.
- Proven coaching or assisting in competitive swimming at grassroots, and competitive level for 3 years.
- Certifications from recognized swimming associations (e.g., FINA, ASCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and athlete development.
- Passion for coaching and inspiring young swimmers to excel.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive team atmosphere.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with international Swimming standards and competitive environments.
- Knowledge of mental conditioning, player welfare, and injury prevention specific to athletes.
