Job Description

Job Summary:

The Equipment Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of construction equipment, supporting project teams in achieving deadlines and maintaining safety standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, effective troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of equipment management in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the maintenance, operation, and repair of construction equipment, including cranes, excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Monitor equipment usage, performance, and operational costs, and report to senior management.
  • Coordinate the mobilization, transportation, and deployment of equipment to various project sites.
  • Supervise and train operators and technicians on equipment handling, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards related to the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and operational history.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to align equipment needs with project requirements.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts and ensure the timely procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
Job Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment management and maintenance in the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and machinery, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle technical issues independently.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) and reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and within tight project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in construction equipment maintenance or related field.
  •  Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in construction.
