Job Description
The Airlines Ticketing Officer is responsible for handling ticket reservations, cancellations, and modifications. They ensure that customers receive the best possible service and assist them in booking flights. The role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Ticket Reservations and Sales:
- Process ticket reservations for domestic and international flights.
- Provide information on flight schedules, availability, and fares.
- Handle booking modifications, ticket exchanges, and refunds in accordance with airline policies.
- Ensure compliance with airline regulations and security procedures.
Customer Service:
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding flight details, baggage policies, and travel requirements.
- Handle complaints and provide solutions in a professional manner.
- Offer alternative travel options in case of cancellations or delays.
- Manage changes to bookings, including rescheduling and rebooking.
- Process refunds and cancellations across.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and transactions.
- Prepare daily sales reports and submit them to the Ticketing Manager.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure all bookings comply with airline and aviation regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and travel advisories.
Coordination:
- Liaise with airlines, travel agents, and other partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with other departments for seamless customer service.
Job Specification
Required Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in travel and tourism is a plus.
Experience:
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in the airline or travel industry.
- Familiarity with airline policies, procedures, and computer reservation systems (e.g., Amadeus).
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
