Job Description

Shanti Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization working to promote the health, safety, and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women and children. It is established and led by trafficking survivors living with HIV promoting the health, safety, and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women, children, and communities.

Shanti Foundation is currently looking for the following experienced and dynamic team players on a contract basis, which is renewable thereafter subject to satisfactory performance and available funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct day-to-day finance functions, including banking, petty cash management, and producing monthly reconciliation statements, collection and payment of relevant taxes to local authorities, PF settlement, and other finance-related tasks.
  • Adhere to government tax compliance while making payments for vendors, stakeholders, consultants, employees, etc., and keep up-to-date information and implementation of tax rules.
  • Collect invoices/bills, verify if necessary, and make payments on time, adhering to financial rules and regulations.
  • Prepare journals/vouchers and record them with necessary approvals and signatures.
  • Prepare tax deposit slips to deposit taxes in the Inland Revenue Office on time.
  • Prepare payroll sheets every month according to employee contracts.
  • Prepare a proper filing system for easy reference and auditing purposes.
  • Engage in the procurement process and ensure the process complies with the organization's rules and regulations.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Ensure that proper financial procedures, reporting requirements, and systems are maintained in compliance with the financial and administrative policies of Shanti Foundation.
  • Prepare financial reports throughout the year for various audiences, including donors and others, as needed and directed.
  • Responsible for the yearly audit process as per instructions from donor agencies and the fiscal year audit of Shanti Foundation.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are adhered to across all projects and that any incidents of breach are immediately reported through appropriate channels and followed up.
  • Any other finance-related duties as may be assigned by the line manager.
Job Specification

Qualification and Experience:

Minimum requirements:

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Good reporting and communication skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of computer applications (MS Office).
  • Must be familiar with accounting software.
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Minimum Qualification:

  • At least Bachelor’s in management, Business administration or others related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the similar position in I/NGO field.

Shanti Foundation is recruiting the following position to contribute in the implementation of its project.

Hamro Samman project is a five-year project generously supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the British people through the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (UK aid) and implemented by Winrock International. Its goal is to reduce the prevalence of trafficking in persons (TIP) in 10 districts of Nepal using the ‘4Ps’ framework – Prevention, Protection,Prosecution and Partnership. Hamro Samman project will bring together various stakeholders and implementing partners to reduce the prevalence of trafficking in persons through three
objectives:
Objective 1: Strengthening federal, provincial and local Government of Nepal (GON) efforts to combat TIP
Objective 2: Improving Civil Society Organization (CSO) advocacy and engagement to address TIP
Objective 3: Increasing private sector partnerships (PSPs) to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations
