Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and trustworthy Senior Accountant to manage the financial health and integrity of our growing company. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in accounting practices, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This role requires someone who can maintain day-to-day financial records while also supporting strategic financial decisions.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the company’s books are accurate, tax obligations are met on time, and internal financial processes are efficient and transparent.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage daily bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Handle payroll processing, staff salary calculations, and related documentation
- File VAT, TDS, and income tax returns and ensure compliance with local laws
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable
- Track business expenses and provide financial insights to management
- Ensure timely invoicing, billing, and sales return entries
- Collaborate with auditors and handle audit documentation
- Create financial forecasts and assist with budgeting and planning
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls
- Support company registration, tax clearance, and statutory obligations
Job Specification
1. Education & Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Master’s degree (MBS/MBA) preferred
• Knowledge of Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS)
• Training in VAT, TDS, or tax compliance is a plus
2. Work Experience
• At least 2 years of practical experience in an accounting role
• Proven track record in managing ledgers, reporting, and compliance
• Experience in preparing financial statements, handling audits, and payroll
3. Skills Required
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Swastik, or similar)
• Strong understanding of VAT, TDS, tax filing, and regulatory compliance in Nepal
• Excellent Excel and data management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Good written and verbal communication skills (Nepali & English)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
