Job Description
Job Summary:
The IT Support and Implementation Officer is responsible for providing technical support and overseeing the implementation of IT systems and solutions. The role involves assisting in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems, while also ensuring effective client training and support. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams via phone, email, or onsite visits.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level technical support or development teams when necessary.
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware according to client requirements.
System Implementation:
- Assist in the implementation of IT systems, including software installation, server configuration, and network setup.
- Ensure that new systems and applications are deployed efficiently, meeting the project deadlines.
- Work with project managers and technical teams to ensure smooth system rollouts.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to ensure systems are running efficiently.
Client/End-User Training:
- Train clients or end-users on the use of new systems, software, or hardware.
- Develop and maintain user manuals, documentation, and training materials for clients.
- Provide ongoing support and training as part of post-implementation services.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:
- Troubleshoot IT systems to identify issues related to software, hardware, or network performance.
- Ensure timely resolution of client queries, minimizing system downtime and service interruptions.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent the recurrence of technical problems.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors or service providers to resolve complex issues.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor system performance, security, and uptime to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patches.
- Maintain system documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and maintenance logs.
Collaborate with IT Teams:
- Work closely with internal IT teams, including developers, network administrators, and database managers, to ensure seamless integration and system support.
- Collaborate with the project management team to meet client needs and deadlines.
- Coordinate with IT vendors and suppliers for procuring hardware, software, or services.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare technical reports and documentation, such as system configuration, issue resolution logs, and IT asset management records.
- Provide regular updates to the IT manager or project stakeholders on the status of system implementation and support activities.
- Document client interactions, technical support cases, and solutions provided for future reference.
Job Specification
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Knowledge of network administration, system configurations, and security protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud services, virtualization, databases, and enterprise software.
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting (servers, desktops, printers, etc.).
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong verbal and written communication for documentation and client interaction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset to deliver high-quality support.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve IT issues.
