Job Description
- Assist the Chef in food preparation, kitchen operations, and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ensure quality control, supervise staff, and manage the kitchen in the Chef’s absence.
- Assist in preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes as per restaurant standards.
- Support the Chef in managing kitchen activities for efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist in ordering supplies.
- Minimize food wastage through proper inventory control.
- Ensure all dishes meet restaurant quality and presentation standards.
- Guide and support kitchen staff in daily tasks.
- Train junior staff on food preparation and safety standards.
- Work closely with the Chef and step in as a leader in the Chef’s absence.
- Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Report maintenance needs to ensure smooth operations.
Job Specification
- High school diploma or culinary certification preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant kitchen or fast-food environment.
- Experience in Nepali cuisine and other cuisines.
- Basic to intermediate cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Familiarity with kitchen inventory management.
- Understanding and application of HACCP rules and protocols.
- Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
