Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities of M&E officer
- The M&E will be responsible for all the M&E activities in the field, such as design, planning and coordination, capacity building of team members, field data collection, data cleaning, and analysis in coordination with Program coordinator, IT officer, Finance officer and Program team.
- To streamline and effectively initiate and implement M&E activities for eliminating menstrual discrimination and enhance SRHR.
- Monitor and evaluate the project progress based on the quarterly and annual work plan and M&E framework to ensure the quality of the project implementation.
- Lead and ensure clear and smooth communication between the stakeholders, partners, and the project through verbal and written reporting and documentation of activities
- Support the Project Coordinator in building the capacity of the project staffs on planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Support in preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the project, ensuring the necessary level of quality.
- Mainstream gender equality and social inclusion into planning, monitoring, evaluation as well as reporting by devising necessary forms and formats.
Job Specification
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:
Working Station: Kathmandu with frequent field visit
Duration: 1 year with possible extension (with 3-month probation period)
Required Qualifications
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred in social science, development-related fields, public health and any relevant field with a good understanding of monitoring and evaluation system.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in developing and supporting, monitoring and evaluation, research, and complaint response mechanisms, preferably with large development projects in I/NGO settings and/or Government. Previous working experience with disadvantaged and vulnerable groups is a plus.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, KOBO, SPSS, etc.) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems.
- Proven ability to produce analytical reports with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Technical knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies
- Ability to develop data analysis approaches, methodologies, and databases
- Good understanding of gender issues and rights-based approach
- Willingness to undertake extensive fieldwork in remote and rural/urban communities.
- Outstanding communication skills- written and spoken
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to self-initiate
- Considerable field experience and knowledge of the local language to be considered an advantage.
- Nepali typing skills and translation of reports, and knowledge documents from English to Nepali and vice versa is a plus.
