Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and creative Fashion Designer with a deep passion for sustainable fashion and expertise in working with hemp textiles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing collections that align with our brand’s vision and sustainability goals. This role requires a strong understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, and the unique properties of hemp fabric.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development: Create innovative and fashionable designs that incorporate hemp textiles, ensuring each collection meets the brand’s aesthetic and sustainability standards.
• Textile Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of hemp fabric properties and explore ways to enhance its texture, durability, and appearance in fashion design.
• Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with current fashion trends, market demands, and consumer preferences to ensure collections are relevant and appealing.
• Collection Management: Oversee the design process from concept to final product, including sketching, fabric selection, pattern making, and garment construction.
• Sustainability Integration: Ensure that design practices and materials align with MyOriginal’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
• Collaborative Work: Work closely with the product development team, textile experts, and manufacturers to ensure high-quality production standards and efficient workflows.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout the design and production process.
• Brand Representation: Represent MyOriginal at fashion events, trade shows, and industry meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a fashion designer, with a focus on sustainable textiles, particularly hemp.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop), excellent sketching abilities, and a solid understanding of garment construction and textile properties.
• Creativity: Proven ability to create unique, on-trend designs that integrate hemp textiles seamlessly.
• Sustainability Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of sustainable fashion practices and the ability to apply this knowledge in design work.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of design and production.
