Summary

Cedar Gate Services is looking for Software Engineer (Java) to join our development team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, testable, and efficient code while working under the supervision of managers from the Analytics and Product Security teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

Analyze software requirements
Write industry-standard code in Java, Groovy, Grails, and Python
Develop backend components and APIs using Java
Integrate the AWS framework and implement its services as needed
Create architectural designs and reusable, testable modules, and components
Implement non-blocking code and advanced techniques like multi-threading
Analyze existing systems, provide estimates, and modify them based on requirements
Work with SQL databases (primarily MySQL) and NoSQL databases (primarily MongoDB)
Perform unit tests and TDD tasks
Conduct code reviews and mentor team members
Debug and resolve software defects
Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation
Investigate and effectively use new REST APIs
Collaborate with cross-team developers in building modules
Ensure high performance and stability
Continuously improve software development processes and practices
Perform other related tasks as required

Required Experience / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering , Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent)
1+ years of relevant experience
Strong programming experience in Java (including Java 8), NodeJS, and Grails3
Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
Familiarity with well-known design patterns
Knowledge of AWS services and frameworks
Experience in MySQL, RESTful APIs, JSON, and GIT
Strong knowledge of server-side and client-side programming
Good understanding of Linux OS and Python scripting
Sound knowledge of DBMS (SQL or NoSQL)
Additional knowledge of Python, ReactJS, or AngularJS is a plus
Strong logical and arithmetic reasoning abilities
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to produce professional and precise documentation
