Position: Senior Django Developer

Job Description

We are looking for someone who demonstrates technical expertise and the ability to implement software development best practices in support of departmental goals.

Key Criteria

* Supporting the testing process and troubleshooting issues and resolving them promptly

* Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code in relevant technologies

* Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

* Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic

* Integration of data storage solutions which may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc., and implementation of security and data protection and help drive technical decisions within the team.

Desirable Criteria

* 4 plus years of experience

* Strong unit test and debugging skills

* Competent understanding of code versioning tools

* Conversant in Python3, with knowledge of Django Framework

* Proficient to design databases and models efficiently

* Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python

* Knowledge of Gunicorn, Django REST framework, user authentication, and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

* Understanding the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture

* Good understanding of server-side templating languages such as Jinja 2, Mako, etc. depending on your technology stack

* A clear understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

* Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance, and fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

* Understanding the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

* Have worked with multi-tenant architecture

* Standard coding practice with QA and Security compliance
