Job Description

Job Summary:


The General Sales Manager is responsible for driving the company's sales strategy, overseeing the sales team, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. This role involves managing relationships with key customers, expanding the corporate and showroom sales network, and ensuring a high standard of customer service to retain and grow the client base.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Strategy and Planning:


  • Develop and execute long-term and short-term sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Plan and implement annual, quarterly, and monthly sales campaigns tailored for festivals, promotions, and special occasions.
  • Ensure all sales activities are aligned with marketing plans and objectives.


Sales Performance and Target Achievement:


  • Lead the sales team to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
  • Monitor team performance, offering guidance and training to improve results.
  • Present regular sales revenue and expense reports to the management team.


Budgeting and Sales Forecasting:


  • Prepare and manage the sales budget in line with approved sales strategies.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.


Brand Management:


  • Ensure brand consistency and maintenance of brand standards across all company showrooms.
  • Work closely with marketing to improve market share and foster brand loyalty.


Customer Relationship and Corporate Sales:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, corporate houses, and strategic partners.
  • Expand the corporate sales channel by reaching new clients and delivering tailored sales pitches.
  • Ensure high customer service standards are met, consistently exceeding customer expectations.


Market Analysis and Research:


  • Conduct industry analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, helping refine the company's sales approach.
  • Research competitors' products, pricing, and promotional strategies to stay competitive.


Team Management:


  • Train, and mentor the sales team to enhance their performance.
  • Oversee the team’s coordination with the operations department for inventory management and sales reporting.


Reporting and Record-Keeping


  • Provide sales reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Ensure accurate records of all sales activities, including customer data and transactions.



Job Requirements:


Education:


Master’s Degree in Management (preferably with a focus on Marketing and sales) or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in sales, OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Management (preferably in Marketing and sales) with at least 7 years of relevant experience.


Skills and Competencies:


  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly in Excel for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong public relations skills to manage relationships with clients and industry partners.
