Job Description: 

We are seeking experienced Frontend Development Mentors to guide and nurture participants in an upcoming Frontend Development Contest. The mentors will play a crucial role in shaping contestants' skills and creativity, helping them deliver high-quality, innovative front-end solutions. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance, project advice, and soft skill development to talented candidates competing for the final prize.

This is a contract-based mentorship opportunity and will run for the duration of the contest (approx. [2-3 months).

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Candidate Evaluation and Selection:

-         Assist in evaluating and reviewing the technical abilities of contest participants who pass the initial qualification round.

-         Help identify candidates’ strengths and areas for improvement.

2. Mentorship and Guidance:

-         Act as a dedicated mentor for a group of contestants, guiding them through the entire development phase.

-         Provide one-on-one mentorship, offering feedback on code quality, design decisions, and project architecture.

-         Ensure that participants understand key frontend technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, etc.).

-         Provide suggestions on best practices, optimization techniques, and modern frontend trends.

3. Project Development Support:

-         Assist contestants in translating project requirements into a structured, functional frontend design.

-         Oversee and ensure that participants are working efficiently on their projects and adhering to deadlines.

-         Help contestants troubleshoot technical issues and provide creative solutions to development challenges.

4. Skills Development:

-         Facilitate learning sessions or workshops to boost contestant knowledge on core frontend topics.

-         Mentor candidates on soft skills such as project management, teamwork, communication, and presentation of work.

5. Quality Assurance:

-         Review and assess the quality of the code, design, and functionality delivered by the contestants.

-         Ensure that project outputs meet professional industry standards in terms of performance, accessibility, and scalability.

6. Collaboration with Other Mentors:

-         Collaborate with other mentors to align on key guidance points, project deliverables, and overall assessment criteria.

-         Participate in mentor meetings to discuss contestant progress and potential improvements in the mentorship approach.

7. Final Evaluation and Winner Selection:

-         Contribute to the final evaluation process, helping to decide the winners based on their overall performance, creativity, and code quality.

-         Offer post-contest feedback to all participants to help them continue growing beyond the contest.

Qualifications:

-         Proven experience in Frontend Development (5+ years) with hands-on expertise in modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.).

-         Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive design principles.

-         Experience mentoring or leading junior developers or students in a structured environment.

-         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective mentoring.

-         Familiarity with design tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).

-         Passion for teaching, coaching, and sharing knowledge.

-         Experience in developing industry-grade applications or working with open-source contributions is a plus.
