Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Hulas Infra, Nepal

Reports to: Lead Structural Engineer / Project Manager

Job Overview:

Hulas Infra is seeking motivated and skilled Design Engineers to join our team, contributing to the development and design of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), steel structures, and infrastructure projects. The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed designs, drawings, and specifications that align with project requirements, safety standards, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong technical foundation and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Structural Design & Drafting:

• Develop detailed structural designs for PEBs, steel buildings, and infrastructure projects using CAD software and structural design tools.
• Prepare layouts, elevations, and detailed drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Perform basic calculations for load-bearing structures, foundations, and connections, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

1. Project Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Lead Structural Engineer and project team to develop and refine designs.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of all systems.
• Assist in the review and evaluation of designs for constructability, cost efficiency, and safety compliance.

1. Documentation & Specifications:

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical drawings, design reports, and materials specifications.
• Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, organized, and aligned with industry standards and internal guidelines.

1. Software Utilization:

• Utilize design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, Tekla, and other relevant tools for structural design and modeling.
• Stay updated on the latest software and tools to enhance design efficiency and accuracy.

1. Site Support & Quality Assurance:

• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including resolving design issues and offering recommendations on modifications.
• Conduct occasional site visits to ensure designs are being implemented correctly and that project requirements are met.

1. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Research and propose innovative materials, techniques, and design approaches that improve project outcomes.
• Continuously seek opportunities to optimize designs for cost-efficiency, sustainability, and structural integrity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on steel structures or Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs) preferred.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Tekla).
• Strong understanding of structural principles, materials, and building codes relevant to Nepal.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with PEB design and industrial steel structures.
• Knowledge of construction processes and materials used in large infrastructure projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
