Position Overview:

As an Admission Counselor for our Pathway Study Abroad Program, you will play a crucial role in guiding prospective students through their journey towards international education. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with students, provide expert advice, and facilitate the admissions process. Your strong selling skills and deep understanding of upGrad's offerings will be key in helping students make informed decisions and successfully enroll in our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Engagement: Actively reach out to prospective students through various channels including phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings. Build and maintain relationships to understand their academic goals and provide tailored guidance.
• Program Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of upGrad's Pathway Study Abroad Program, including partner universities, course offerings, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities. Use this knowledge to effectively communicate the benefits and unique aspects of the program.
• Consultative Selling: Employ persuasive communication and strong selling techniques to highlight the advantages of our program and address any concerns or objections. Showcase how upGrad’s offerings align with the student’s academic and career objectives.
• Application Assistance: Guide students through the application process, from initial inquiry to final enrollment. Provide support with documentation, interview preparation, and other requirements.
• Market Research: Stay informed about trends in international education and competitors' offerings to effectively position upGrad’s Pathway Study Abroad Program in the marketplace.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as conversion rates, enrollment figures, and student satisfaction. Use data to continuously improve engagement strategies and sales approaches.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the admissions team, marketing department, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless and effective admissions process. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree or additional certifications in higher education or counseling is a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience in admissions counseling, sales, or customer service roles, preferably within the education or ed-tech industry. Experience with study abroad programs is highly desirable.
• Skills:
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
• Strong selling and persuasion skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Deep knowledge of upGrad’s Pathway Study Abroad Program and its value proposition.
• Proficiency in using CRM systems and other digital tools for managing student interactions and tracking progress.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
