Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Team Leader/ Program Manager for a US Government-funded assignment in Nepal. The Team Leader/Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day strategic direction and supervision of the team to ensure the effective and efficient coordination and management of inputs as well as monitoring the progress of the project toward achievement of program outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

This position relies on experience in the understanding of the requirements of managing complex enterprise-level projects and enterprise-wide resource distribution and allocation across projects. This will typically be an individual who has significant project management experience, past successes, and the ability to mentor/coach other project managers. The Team Leader will perform primary partnership/liaison with the client and government-level counterparts.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.


Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of demonstrated program or project management experience involving the management and delivery of logistically complex, large-scale infrastructure, natural resource management, and/or economic development programs.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in project planning, budgeting, administration, management, monitoring and reporting in a multiple project environment and in the complex social and environmental context of Nepal and/or similar countries.
  • Managed at least one (1) program ($25M+) involving multiple projects and/or highly technical activities across multiple locations.
  • Proven team leader capable of working with and managing a team of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural specialists.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Economics, Social Sciences or related field.
  • Prior experience managing logistically complex large scale development in Nepal, South Asia and other developing and transitional countries is highly desired
  • Experience in large-scale energy and/or transportation infrastructure
  • Qualified Chartered/Registered Professional Engineer or approved equivalent in their country of origin
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
