Students Herald is seeking a bold, charismatic, and dynamic Business Development Manager to spearhead our mission of fostering connections and community among international students. This critical role requires an exceptional individual who can effectively engage with partners, develop strategic business initiatives, and drive growth within the international education sector.


Reporting Line: Collaborating closely with the CEO, Company Directors, and the Digital Team, as well as various other key departments within the organisation, the role of Business Development Manager (BDM) is pivotal to the success of Students Herald. The BDM will also play a significant role in future talent acquisition and will actively contribute to the overall strategic growth of the business.


Responsibilities:

1)  Lead the development and execution of Students Herald’s growth strategy.

  •   Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the education sector, including partnerships with institutions, universities, and educational departments.
  •   Develop and manage a comprehensive pipeline of prospective clients and partners, ensuring consistent and sustainable business growth.

2) Partnership Management:

  •   Establish and maintain robust relationships with educational institutions, universities, educational departments, and consultants on a global scale.
  •   Collaborate with partners to create mutually advantageous opportunities for content sharing, events, and strategic initiatives.
  •   Represent Students Herald in negotiations and discussions with potential partners, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.

3) Market Expansion:

  •   Conduct in-depth research and analysis of market trends to identify opportunities for Students Herald’s expansion into new regions and markets.
  •   Develop strategies to effectively penetrate new markets and enhance the platform's visibility and user base.
  •   Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities to ensure Students Herald’s competitive edge.

4) Community Engagement and Outreach:

  • Engage with the international student community through various channels to gain insights into their needs and preferences.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including students, educators, and industry leaders, to strengthen Students Herald’s community presence.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design outreach programs that resonate with our target audience.

5. Brand Strategy and Growth:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of Students Herald’s brand strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for brand growth and expansion into new markets and regions.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve.

6. Continuous Improvement and Feedback:

  •  Gather and analyze feedback from partners and stakeholders to continuously refine and improve our offerings.
  •  Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the leadership team to enhance our brand presence and impact.
  • Implement best practices in business development to optimise performance and achieve strategic objectives.


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development, ideally within the education or media industry.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in international markets and a deep understanding of the global education sector.
