Job Description
The Basic Level English Teacher is responsible for delivering foundational English language education to primary-grade students. The teacher will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports language development, communication skills, and overall academic growth. The role includes lesson planning, student assessment, classroom management, and collaboration with parents and school leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Curriculum Implementation:
- Develop and deliver English lessons as per the school curriculum.
- Use interactive and age-appropriate teaching methods to improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Integrate technology, storytelling, and creative activities to enhance language learning.
- Ensure a balance between language proficiency, comprehension, and communication skills.
- Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Encourage student participation through engaging activities like role-playing, discussions, and group work.
- Identify learning challenges and provide individualized support.
- Instill confidence, curiosity, and a love for the English language.
- Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and oral tests to track student progress.
- Provide constructive feedback and personalized improvement plans.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and prepare progress reports.
- Parent Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and challenges.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and share insights on student learning.
- Encourage parental involvement in reading and language activities at home.
- Co-curricular & Extracurricular Involvement:
- Promote participation in language-related competitions, storytelling, and drama activities.
- Organize English-related events, reading clubs, and cultural programs.
- Support school activities, assemblies, and literacy-focused initiatives.
Job Specification
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education (B.Ed.), or a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience (preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.
- Creativity in lesson planning and instructional techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Smart in digital literacy.
