Job Description
The Primary Level Mathematics/Science Teacher is responsible for teaching fundamental mathematical and scientific concepts in Grades 3–5. The teacher will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Lesson Planning
- Develop and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans based on the curriculum.
- Use interactive and hands-on teaching methods to make learning engaging.
- Incorporate storytelling, experiments, and real-life examples to explain concepts.
2. Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and class activities to evaluate learning.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Offer additional support to students who need extra help in understanding concepts.
3. Classroom Management & Student Engagement
- Maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Encourage students to ask questions and develop problem-solving skills.
- Promote a growth mindset and a love for Mathematics and Science.
4. Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with colleagues and school administration to enhance teaching strategies.
- Participate in training, workshops, and curriculum development activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
5. Extracurricular & Hands-on Learning
- Organize math games, science experiments, and field trips to enhance practical learning.
- Encourage students to participate in competitions, exhibitions, and group projects.
- Foster curiosity and creativity in young learners through engaging activities.
Job Specification
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or relevant training is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience at the primary level.
- Experience in activity-based and child-centred learning methods is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Science.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to use technology and innovative teaching techniques.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young learners.
