Job Description
- Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
- Provide leadership in financial matters and offer strategic advice to the management and board of directors.
- Supports to make key decisions on capital structure, investments, and resource allocation.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with Nepalese accounting standards and regulations.
- Work with senior management team to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting
- Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, inventories management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, tax, and regulatory requirements under Nepalese laws.
- Ensure timely tax filings and compliance with Income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
- Lead the process of preparing annual budgets, including operating, capital, and program budgets.
- Continuously forecast financial performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company meets its operational and financial obligations.
- Implement risk management practices to assess and mitigate financial risks.
- Oversee working capital management to ensure business liquidity.
- Work with legal and accounting teams to ensure tax efficiency while complying with tax laws.
- Liaise with auditors, ensure audit compliance, and address concerns raised during audits.
- Lead efforts to raise capital through equity, debt, or other financial instruments.
- Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions and investors to secure funding.
- Monitor and control operational costs to improve profitability.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to assess performance, cost structures, and profitability.
- Manage company investments, evaluate performance, and make recommendations for future investments.
- Lead the account and finance team, providing direction, training, and development opportunities.
- Oversee and collaborate with HR to manage payroll, benefits, recruitment, and compensation, ensuring financial efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a collaborative environment that improves communication and team performance.
- Support business growth by providing financial insights on new markets, product lines, or international opportunities.
- Manage and implement financial IT systems and tools to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Utilize financial software to provide detailed financial reports and analyses for decision-making.
- Regularly present financial performance, forecasts, and strategies to the board of directors and stakeholders.
- Communicate financial results to investors and shareholders, ensuring transparency.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, financial institutions, and government bodies.
- Represent the company in financial and regulatory matters.
Job Specification
- Professional certification (e.g., CA, ACCA, Certified Public Accountant) or a Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the food manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong understanding of financial management, accounting practices, and industry trends.
- Strong leadership skills with personal integrity and the ability to guide and motivate teams.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills for effective internal and external communication.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling, and forecasting.
