Position: Fiber Network Operation Manager

Job Description

The Fiber Network Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fiber-optic network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and high customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for managing network operations teams, troubleshooting technical issues, overseeing network upgrades, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations Management:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the fiber network, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Ensure that network performance metrics (uptime, latency, packet loss, etc.) meet or exceed company targets and SLAs.
• Manage 24/7 network monitoring and fault management through NOC (Network Operations Center).

Team Leadership:

• Lead a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance, performance management, and training to ensure operational excellence.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure efficient handling of installations, repairs, and maintenance of fiber lines.

Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce network outages and service disruptions.
• Handle escalations for complex technical issues and lead the troubleshooting process to resolve network faults swiftly.
• Ensure rapid response to fiber cuts, outages, and other network incidents.

Capacity Planning & Upgrades:

• Oversee capacity planning and proactive measures to scale network resources based on customer demand and growth projections.
• Work with engineering teams to design, plan, and implement network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal service interruption.

Job Specification

Vendor and Equipment Management:

• Coordinate with equipment vendors, fiber providers, and other third-party partners to manage contracts, procure equipment, and handle service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Evaluate new technologies, equipment, and vendors to improve the efficiency of network operations.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and security regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including schematics, operational processes, and incident logs.

Reporting and Analytics:

• Analyze network performance data and generate reports to track network health, utilization, and service levels.
• Provide insights and recommendations for improving network performance and reducing operational costs.

Customer Support and Satisfaction:

• Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure quick resolution of customer complaints related to network issues.
• Ensure that service delivery meets customer expectations for uptime, bandwidth, and response time.
