Job Description

The Fiber Manager is responsible for overseeing the deployment, management, and optimization of the company's fiber optic network infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage installation processes, ensure connectivity functionality, support customers, and lead a team of technicians and engineers. The Fiber Manager will also focus on budgeting, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, while working closely with marketing teams to drive customer conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

Department Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction for the fiber optic network division, aligning departmental goals with overall company objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the expansion and maintenance of the fiber network to support the company’s growth.

Installation Management

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of fiber optic installations across all service areas.
  • Ensure all installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors and third-party vendors involved in installation projects.

Connectivity Functionality

  • Monitor and maintain the operational functionality of the fiber network, ensuring high levels of uptime and minimal disruptions.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to avoid service outages and enhance network performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues in collaboration with the technical support team.

Customer Support

  • Work closely with customer support teams to address and resolve customer complaints related to fiber connectivity.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering prompt and effective solutions to technical problems.
  • Develop and implement customer education programs to enhance the user experience with fiber services.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fiber technicians and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.

Safety Guidelines

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and guidelines for all fiber installation and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, minimizing risk and ensuring a safe working environment.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation

  • Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for fiber deployment and maintenance.
  • Track expenses and optimize operational costs without compromising service quality.
  • Plan and forecast resource needs, including equipment, materials, and labor.

Market Analysis and Feedback

  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for expanding the fiber network and improving service offerings.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation in fiber services.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company’s fiber offerings competitive.

Marketing and Conversion

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns that promote fiber services to potential customers.
  • Provide technical insights to help shape marketing strategies and improve conversion rates.
  • Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise during customer interactions and negotiations.

  • Ensure all fiber installations and maintenance activities meet the company’s quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of fiber installations and maintenance practices to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare and present regular reports on fiber network performance, installation progress, customer satisfaction, and other key metrics.
  • Use data analytics to monitor network performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of the fiber network and related activities.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, customer service, and IT, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate with external partners, such as contractors and suppliers, to align project timelines and objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between the fiber department and other business units to achieve company goals.
