1.Job Title: Senior Credit Manager
Job Description
To ensure that the quality of the corporate credit portfolio of Corporate, Institutional and Commercial, Nepal is maintained within acceptable parameters, as defined by the Credit Initiation & Approval Policy and country Portfolio standards (PS), and that the reporting of information relating to that portfolio is timely and accurate.
To instil a strong credit culture by setting the highest standards and demanding that these are maintained by all Business teams in country.
Responsibilities will related to CB and CIB portfolios (excl. FIs and DOs) .
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure that the quality of the corporate credit portfolio of Corporate, Institutional and Commercial banking segments is maintained within acceptable parameters.
Support in development of business plans and strategies.
Approve Business Credit Applications falling within own discretion and support applications which require approval outside the territory.
Ensure that the quality of Business Credit Applications (BCAs) meets Group standards, particularly with regards to the completeness and depth of risk analysis.
Support in formulating and obtaining approval of Corporate Portfolio Standards in Corporate, Institutional and Commercial banking segments.
Monitoring compliance with credit policy, Portfolio Standards, portfolio targets and business strategy and reporting same where these are outside benchmark tolerance level on a monthly basis.
Monitoring and reporting breaches to Country Risk Triggers outlined in Underwriting / Portfolio Standards.
Assist Assistant Relationship Managers in identification and managing up or out of accounts exhibiting signs of deterioration and assisting Special Assets Management, where appropriate, in managing substandard accounts to maximize recoveries and minimize losses.
Apply a duty of care and awareness, for the full spectrum of risks (including operational risk, reputational risk, event risk, etc) over the Business in Nepal – and bring to the attention of senior management any risks that are not being properly managed.
Undertake regular customer visits to keep abreast of local market developments and better understand the business environment.
Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, by challenging business to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy.
Ensure effective implementation of Group Policies / Circulars / Procedures as well as local rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Should be a Nepalese citizen
MBA in Finance/Accounting from a recognized university. Preference will be given to those with additional professional qualifications like CA, CFA, etc.
Several years of experience in corporate lending and risk management
Good analytical skills
Very good writing and communication skills in English
