Position: Coordinator – Knowledge Management

Location: Head Office, Lalitpur

Gross Salary: 15,86,200/annum

Background:
Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international development and humanitarian organization that responds to the call of the neglected, vulnerable, and marginalized beyond the barriers of race, nationality, religion, ideology, and geography. GNI empowers people in 46 countries across the world through social development activities and places particular emphasis on economic development in order to break the vicious cycle of poverty that people in developing countries suffer from. Established in 1991 in Seoul, South Korea, GNI has fundraising offices in Chile, Mexico, USA, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and an International Cooperation Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

In Nepal, GNI has been working since 2002 for improving the lives of poor people, especially
children through child protection, education, income generation, health services, water,
sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, and advocacy
programs. Currently, GNI Nepal serves marginalized, vulnerable, and poor children, families,
and communities in 22 districts across Nepal.

The Coordinator – Knowledge Management will be stationed in GNI Nepal Head Office and reports to Manage – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).

Job Description:
A. Designing Knowledge Management System

  • Develop Knowledge Management Strategy, Framework, and Action Plans
  • Design and deliver knowledge management toolkits that allow to develop, capture, store and share best practices from GNI Nepal interventions
  • Work closely with Program Development & Communications team to determine strategies and approaches to share the information and knowledge to external and internal audiences

B. Planning and Implementing of Knowledge Management

  • Work collaboratively with thematic staff to identify and prioritize types of knowledge to capture and develop
  • Work closely with thematic departments and Program Development & Communications team to ensure knowledge management efforts are utilized in different reports and proposal development
  • Serve as a writer of knowledge products of GNI Nepal and promotes organizational approaches and results
  • Drive organizational learning agenda to foster development and use of best practices to improve results of programmatic interventions

C. Information Management and Documentation

  • Produce reader-friendly information products by using infographics and relevant software
  • Support thematic departments in information management, analysis, and writing narrative reports.

D. Capacity Building

  • Organize lesson learnt workshops for learning and capturing impactful activities
  • Capacitate staff to document and share best practices, and lessons learnt

E. Other Duties

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the supervisor.

Job Specifications
The candidates should have the following key job requirements and skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science, Development, Social Work, Public Policy, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in the development sector
  • Excellent creative writing skills
  • Proven track record of leading the development and dissemination of knowledge products
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated networking skills, and ability to take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening skills as well as the ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure with a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with relevant information technology, including knowledge management systems
