Position: Store Keeper

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and organised Storekeeper to manage inventory and oversee the storage and distribution of materials for the Kathmandu Terai Fast Track Project. The Storekeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of stock levels, handling logistics for incoming and outgoing materials, and ensuring compliance with inventory management procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders or invoices.
• Organise and maintain inventory levels of materials, equipment, and supplies in designated storage areas.
• Issue materials and supplies to construction teams or departments based on requisitions and maintain accurate records of transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to expedite deliveries and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to materials.
• Perform regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock counts with system records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas and ensure compliance with safety and security regulations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation such as inventory reports, stock ledgers, and consumption records.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimise loss, theft, or damage of materials.
• Assist in the disposal or recycling of surplus materials and equipment in accordance with project guidelines.

Job Specification

• Bachelors degree in business management, administration or related field. 
• Proven experience as a Storekeeper or similar role, preferably in construction, logistics, or related industries.
• Knowledge of mechanical parts, equipment parts as well as inventory management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with construction materials and equipment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in computerised inventory systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to warehouse operations.
