Job Description

Job Summary:

The Modern Trade Sales Officer is responsible for managing and growing business relationships with key accounts in modern retail outlet (Bigmarts, Metromarts and other marts. This role involves driving sales, promoting products, ensuring product visibility, managing stock, and ensuring that the company's offerings meet the needs of both customers and retailers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key modern retail outlets.

  • Ensure effective product placement and maximize visibility within the stores.

  • Drive sales by promoting products and implementing promotional campaigns in collaboration with retail partners.

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure consistent product availability.

  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and account insights to senior management.

  • Utilize data analytics tools to track sales performance, generate insights, and forecast future trends.

  • Negotiate terms and agreements with retail partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Key Expectations:

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets set by the company.

  • Develop innovative strategies to enhance product visibility and customer engagement.

  • Address and resolve issues raised by retailers to ensure seamless operations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and customer preferences.

 

Job Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the FMCG or modern trade sector.

  • Strong negotiation and persuasive communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in relationship-building and account management.

  • Ability to utilize data analytics tools to interpret sales performance and market trends.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to various retail outlets as required.

  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales goals.
