Position: Senior Drafter (Premium Job)

Job Description

We are looking for a full time Senior Drafter to join our Nepal team and support the USA engineering team! If you have thorough experience in AutoCAD project file setup and drafting as well as experience working closely with engineers and architects, this position might be for you! SSP Engineering & Consulting Nepal is looking for a professional, active, and experienced Senior Drafter to assist our engineers on relevant projects.

Candidate’s primary tasks will be producing AutoCAD drawings while following established company drafting standards. Other duties include creating borders, setting up common background files and plot routines for project work. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of CAD software and will greatly benefit from knowledge of engineering and architecture.

• Use AUTOCAD software to create drawings and plans
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on projects
• Determine the proper size and materials for products
• Add details to architectural plans
• Initiating projects and setting up drawings to be produced by staff members
• Mentoring and training staff on use of AutoCAD design software as needed by the AutoCAD Manager
• Responsible for design drawing quality
• Understanding project schedules and deadline requirements
• Participating in meetings with US staff as required
• Creating 3D Model in Sketch-up 3D

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong collaborative and interpersonal ability
• Expertise in time management and the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
• Advanced math and computer skills
• Creativity and artistic ability and keen attention to detail
• Knowledge of Steel / Wood and concrete buildings
• Expertise in latest AutoCAD software
• Knowledge of BIM / Revit is plus

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred with 5yrs experience
• Diploma degree with 5+ years of experience
• Previous working experience with USA based engineering company is plus
