Job Description


The overall purpose of this internship is to support the Gender section in information and knowledge management (including virtual resources), database construction and utilization, and standardization of communication products.

Expected results (measurable results):

Working directly under the supervision of the Regional Gender Adviser, the intern will be responsible for the following general/specific tasks:

i. General Tasks
a. Support the section with infographics and data analytics for Gender Related reports
b. Preparation of section specific Dashboards
c. Support organizing meeting and webinars

ii. Specific Tasks per Functional Area
a. Contribute data and analysis to the gender section reports
b. Support on development of knowledge products

iii. Monitoring & Evaluation:
a. Support the review, monitoring and analysis of data and evidence
b. Gather and prepare documentation, presentation, graphs, and analytical results from the UNICEF SitAn, SitRep, SES and CCC indicators
c. Support preparation of summary analysis of ROSA year end reports, technical materials and other resources
d. Support data analysis of available datasets, and produce regular statistical reports, visualizations, and maps
e. Ensure timely data collection from different sources including UNICEF’s and its partners’ Information Management Systems when applicable and as per program requirements.
f. Develop infographics and maps in support of the office’s need for evidence generation and reporting.

Working Conditions:

Duration: The internship will last 6 months, starting from 15th October 2022.

Location: The intern will work remotely (with the possibility to work at the South Asia Regional Office in Kathmandu, Nepal to be determined due to Covid-19). The candidate selected will be governed by and subject to UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for interns.

Financial support: UNICEF will also provide a monthly stipend in accordance with UNICEF rules and recommendations – if this is not covered by the University. All other costs will be borne by the university/candidate.


  • UNICEF accepts no responsibility for costs or fatality arising from illness or accidents incurred during the internship; therefore, the intern must have adequate medical insurance.
  • Applicants for internship must show proof of valid medical and life/accident insurance for the duty station for which they will work.

Required Education, Skills and Experiences:

  • Recently completed or currently pursuing a University Degree in any discipline
  •  Knowledge and experience of working on sharepoint and Excel
  •  Strong interest in using different ICT tools
  • Interest in creating designs and developing communication products
  •  Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office products)
  •  A minimum of 6 months of relevant professional experience
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
